In a sea of blushes, pinks, creams, whites and silvers Toronto designer Mikhael Kale debuted his S/S15 collection at WMCFashionWeek this afternoon. Every piece had a touch of something sheer, a little skin, some sparkle, plastic detail and a unique construction. It is a futuristic collection that fuses ‘sexy’ with ‘elegant.’ It’s like everything Leeloo from the Fifth Element would wear if she grew up and went to the ball. xo

Haley Elsaesser @ Toronto Fashion Week.
All the way from Australia, designer Haley Elsaesser flew with her trunks of wearable treats to show off to Toronto. Her show yesterday closed the third day of WMCFashionWeek with a real feast for the eyes. Bold, youthful, fun, prints in candy colours were the backbone of the collection. Add a helmut of silvery sparkled hair on the models and the look was straight out of Harajuku. Every piece shown was fresher than the next. It’s a pleasure to see a designer having so much fun with fashion. In a season so burdened with the ease of wearing all black everything, lending to the dreary landscape of winter, Haley’s show made a playful splash. xo
Mackage @ Toronto Fashion Week.
Montreal label Mackage put on a stellar Summer 2015 show last night at David Pecaut Square. They presented a collection full of ready-to-wear leather in relaxed and casual styles. The moto jackets, the leather track suits, fringe skirts and cutout tops were all very wearable and chic. The designers showed us how they have totally mastered the art of layering as well. The addition of a full-length, collared, sheer button-up to a few of the women’s looks created a new silhouette that made those outfits stand out among the rest. If you can judge a collection based in its wearabilty and power to pave the way for new trends, Mackage S/S15 was a big hit. xo
