Stereo Live.

Studio Live Promo-4Studio Live B Roll-3 Studio Live Promo-2Stereo Live is a new & revolutionary concert series curated by virtuoso violinist Edwin Huizinga and COC 1st viola Keith Hamm. The boys have put together three gorgeous evenings of music at the historic Campbell House in downtown Toronto. The first, which is happening tomorrow night, will feature an all-star quartet including new COC concert master Aaron Schwebel, principal cellist of the TSO Joseph Johnson and of course Edwin & Keith followed by a jam with Brenden Canning of Broken Social Scene. Each concert in the series will be cross-genre mixing classical music with indie rock, bluegrass and more. As written up by Metro News today, “The series is meant to appeal to music fans who may be more accustomed to beards and beer than suits and symphonies, hopefully drawing them in for a new experience.” Tomorrow’s show is already sold out but there are tickets available for the two shows following. See HERE for tickets.

I got to shoot the boys a couple weeks back in studio. I thought medium format black and white film would add a rich quality to the shots to compliment their vibrant personalities. As an experiment we tried out a long exposure and we got that magical middle shot. So nice to work with these guys. Good luck tomorrow! xo

I had the pleasure of experiencing Toronto at its finest during the David Bowie AGO exhibit opening and the Mick Rock photo exhibit / after party at the Templar Hotel on Sept. 24th. Mick Rock, Bowie’s photographer on the road during the Ziggy Stardust era, was the guest of honour. His particular blend of rock and roll mixed with that edge only seasoned veterans of the 70’s can muster set the tone of the evening. Darling astronaut Chris Hadfield, who has the voice of an angel, performed a moving rendition of Bowie’s “Space Oddity” to an enraptured crowd. Other stars studding the crowd included David Sutcliffe of TV series “Cracked”, Emily Haines of Metric, Brenden Canning of Broken Social Scene and CBC radio host Jian Ghomeshi. I hope you enjoy the pics and I also hope to attend a party as fun as this one in the very near future. x

Special thanks to Arthouse.
