What a night! I am so grateful for all the support of my beautiful friends & family, and all of you who came out that I got to meet for the first time. The Goddess Array filled the 3000 sq/ft room and got conversations going about feminism, art, photography, freedom of expression, the place of the nude, and much more. My mind was blown as we announced the winners of the silent auction and I realized the show sold out! I spent the day yesterday an emotional mess as I let myself get overwhelmed with what a blessed start Monday night was for The Goddess Array project. There are plans in the works to shoot more goddesses for the exhibit (ladies, call me if you want to shoot), as well as tours of the exhibit in California and Africa. I want to share The Goddess Array with the world!
Jenny-Anne McCowan produced the show and choreographed the moving dance piece that felt like a blessing of the space. Jenny is an angel and a crucial element in growing The Goddess Array to the next stage. Dancers Celia Green, Alison Keery & Andrya Duff, and cellist Elinor Frey, singer Xin Wang & violinist Edwin Huizinga performed a passionate, energetic & seamless improvisation piece following nothing but breath and vibes. SO much talent! I want to pay tribute to my goddesses, to their bravery, belief, strength, and participation. Sarah, V, Alex Kerr, Demi Labelle, Jennifer Nichols, Erika Abrahamian, Laura, Mary-Josephine, Chanele, & Teesh, I am eternally grateful. Stephanie Diana & Julia Mohamed rocked the bar. Tenemy and Fathom rocked the ones and twos. Thanks to the ever awesome Dave Gillespie and Katherine Kwan for documenting the event. I will put together a video of the evening shortly. Many thanks to Cais and OOG for the beautiful space and to Lauren Lynn for MCing with such grace. Thanks to Aunty Brenda for working the merch table like a champion to my parents for their unending support. And to all of you who now have a huge goddess print in your homes, please send me pics! Thank you!!!!! Shine on, Jen.
